You

As an Infrastructure Architect at our scale up, you will be responsible for reviewing and evolving the infrastructure that supports our organization's operations and growth. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements, evaluate technology solutions, and develop scalable and efficient infrastructure solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of infrastructure design principles, cloud technologies, and the ability to drive innovation while ensuring reliability and security. You will be part of the IS-IT-Systems team under the direct supervision of the company founders.

Key responsibilities

1. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and operations personnel. Collaborate effectively to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and provide guidance on infrastructure-related matters. Clearly communicate architectural decisions, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders. This is a crucial responsibility to improve collaboration and coordination between the IS-IT-Systems team and other teams within the company.
2. Infrastructure Design: Develop and maintain a comprehensive infrastructure architecture blueprint that aligns with business goals and supports our technology stack. Design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our growing scale up.
3. Cloud Implementation: Leverage cloud technologies (such as AWS or Google Cloud) to architect and deploy infrastructure components. Design cloud-based solutions that optimize performance, scalability, and security. Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and manage cloud resources efficiently.
4. Systems Integration: Collaborate with product development teams to integrate infrastructure components into the overall applications architecture. Ensure seamless connectivity and data flow between systems and services. Identify and resolve integration issues to maintain system stability.
5. Security and Compliance: In collaboration with CISO, implement robust security measures to protect infrastructure and data. Stay updated with industry best practices and compliance standards (such as GDPR, ISO27001, NIST or HIPAA) and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
6. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze infrastructure performance to identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization. Develop strategies to improve scalability, reliability, and response times. Proactively anticipate future needs and plan for capacity expansion.
7. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of infrastructure failures or disruptions. Conduct regular testing of backup systems and processes. Create and maintain documentation for disaster recovery procedures.
8. Research and Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to infrastructure architecture. Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies for potential implementation. Drive innovation by proposing and implementing improvements to infrastructure design and processes.

Must have

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• At least bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an infrastructure architect or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, IBM) and their various services.
• Proficiency in infrastructure design principles, including networking, storage, virtualization, containerization and microservice.
• Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in an infrastructure context.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, infrastructure as code).
• Strong knowledge of kubernetes

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to balance technical and business requirements.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with startups, scaleup and/or fast-paced environments. A strong entrepreneurial mindset would also be welcome.
