"Hello! I’m Nicolas, the Chief Product Officer at Next Gate Tech, and I’m looking for an ambitious Site Reliability Engineer to join my team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, quality, and scalability of our platform. This includes collaborating closely with other engineers to design and implement solutions that automate releases and testing, enhance production monitoring tools, and optimize performance."

Responsibilities include

• Maintain and improve service reliability by monitoring and responding to events, investigating root causes, and implementing long-term fixes

• Collaborate with engineers to build and maintain a scalable infrastructure that supports high availability, redundancy, and rapid feature development

• Automate away repetitive tasks and toil using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar to improve operational efficiency

• Design, deploy, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and frequent releases

• Implement and optimize production monitoring systems

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices for site reliability and security

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related technical field

• Experience as an SRE, Software Engineer, or in a similar role managing large-scale, highly available systems

• 3+ years of professional programming experience in Python, with a strong aptitude for testing

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and a drive to learn and understand business needs

• Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability tools, and managing data pipelines or large datasets

• Familiarity with automation tools and testing standards

• Experience with working with the Cloud such as GCP and AWS is highly desirable
